Scotland, the Birthplace of Golf

Scotland, where over 550 golf courses populate the country from one side to another, is the birthplace of golf. Golf, the royal game, was first invented in the East Lothian coast of Scotland and Scotland is the most ideal place to enjoy a gold break. The country is populated with mountainous regions ideal to create huge and challenging golf courses.

Still today in Scotland, some of the gold courses are decorated with images of Old Tom Morris and James Braid, the two men that made the game popular and it is still as popular after 600 years of its invention. The unique part of Scotland is its links courses. Open championships such as Royal Troon, Turnberry, St. Andrews and the Old Course attract golfers from all over the world.

Ryder Cup in 2014 will be hosted in the PGA Centenary Course in Scotland. Greg Norman, the famous golfer also won his first ever European tour title in Scotland.
